Education:
BS degree in mathematics from Jacksonville State University, Master of Mathematic degree from The University of South Carolina, Ed.D. Degree with emphasis in mathematics education from The University of Alabama, one year of additional graduate study in mathematics at Emory University.

Certified Municipal Official, Advanced Certified Municipal Official
Professional Experience:
Retired from JSU as Professor of Mathematics after having taught mathematics there for 34 years; taught mathematics at the University of West Georgia for 5 years. Member of Jacksonville, Alabama City Council for 12 years (Mayor Pro Tempore for 6 years). Served City of Jacksonville as Mayor for the past 14 years.
